I hate to say it but Ghostbusters 2016 was better than this.

For all of its flaws, Ghostbusters 2016 at least didn't bore me like Afterlife did.

The reaction from the critics and the fans is rather tepid and it goes along the likes of "I sort of like it/It was OK I guess".

I didn't see 2016, but I highly doubt it because this movie was fantastic.

Indeed, the 2016 movie was better and Kristen Wiig is miles ahead of any actor in this new movie.

Both of them are mediocre for me. The 2016 one leans more heavily on the comedy and this one relied on the nostalgia aspect of the series. They both manage to achieve what they want, although I think the 2016 one got way harsher negative reaction than it deserved.
