NBC Reduces Order From 13 to 9!
I saw on the Hollywood Reporter site that the show will hit the end of its run next month. Not the greatest show on the air, but fun while it lasted.
(And I developed a crush on Ms. Wakefield!)

Not surprised, but VERY disappointed. I figured it would get cancelled just because it's the one show I anticipate and wait for and am excited to see every week. It's just a fun, action-packed show that I enjoyed very much, and will continue to enjoy until it's over.
I really ended up liking this one and Blindspot (thanks to the Strike Back boys), but if I had to choose one to keep, I would much rather keep The Player. But I knew they would probably keep Blindspot going and toss this one aside. They always seem to cancel the shows I like, so not surprised at all, just disappointed .
People on board a ship that's capsizing don't use that many exclamation marks.
The Player and Blindspot caught my attention because of the Strike Back boys as well. And I've been wondering lately if had been a better fit if Sully and Philip had switched shows and roles?
I've had a hard time accepting Sully as the tortured, serious FBI agent in Blindspot. Maybe he will win me over as Agent Weller over time but I positive Philip Winchester would have been brilliant in that role. And as much as I like Philip as Alex Kane, Sully would have been perfect playing that character.
Just a thought.

I can't say that the news shocked my about the episode order cut, but I am a bit disappointed that one of my Strike Back lads will be off the screen soon. I agree with many that the timeslot for this show was wrong, especially since it has to compete with that powerhouse known as the NFL. Of course this typically does not apply to shows with a niche audience who don't really care about football.
My philosophy is that if a network wants to give a fair shake to it's shows, new shows should be aired against other new shows. You don't take a new show and put it up against the seasoned favorites which are guaranteed to pull high ratings. I would have preferred this show to air before or after "Blindspot" on Monday or even Tuesday. I also feel that this show may have been given better treatment on another network as well since NBC is notorious for dumping shows quickly.
My last shred of hope (while waiting for the official cancellation notice) is that NBC saw the progress of the show (Alex now talking to Ginny and knows she is alive) and decided to cut the episodes to allow for a cliffhanger so the writers can rehash a longer burn to the resolution and potentially return it to the network with some additional episodes before making a final decision. Basically a major network doing a split season similar to the last season of "Mad Men" and what "The Walking Dead" does every year. If not...I still have my hopes for a "Strike Back" film.

I'm ashamed to admit I thought the same thing. I'm not fully invested in Blindspot because the character doesn't seem to fit him.
sharecant we just try the same thing as what was tried with knight rider and other shows a petition campaign , to show the network that the show already has a following that wants it to kept on air.

There is a petition but only 96 people have signed so far :(

Thanks, Obama.
shareWell, there is one ex-president who loves the show.

.
Likely to be cancelled either way.
shareIt's a damn shame, but what can you do? Hoping for a last-minute pardon from the warden, but I'm not holding my breath about it.
No blah, blah, blah!
I was sad to hear this. The Player was pretty good much better than Blindspot. I can't even with that hot mess. I tried and I'm done. It was nice to see both Winchester and Snipes on screen together at least for awhile.
shareMaybe we should boycott NBC to at least make them complete the series. It's a great show!
shareWinchester and Snipes is great in this show. I hope both comes back in new action TV series soon.
sharethis show can trive when they put it in a better time slot or maybe an other chanel.
Maybe we can show NBC the show already has a following and that the need to give it another run next season in another time slot.
I just wanna say a huge *beep* you to NBC. Cancelling a story part way through shows total contempt and disregard for your viewers. Maybe we need to come up with a mass strategy for punishing NBC's advertisers when they do this to us.
