How many sci-fi shows has Fox killed before their time?
Second Chance, Almost Human, and the biggie... Firefly.
I know there are more. I also know that, if a good sci fi show airs on Fox, don't get too attached.

Maybe about on par with the SyFy network.
shareTechnically not sci-first but how about Brimstone?
shareOMG. I loved Brimstone!! That is definitely on my top 10 list of most painful TV show cancellations! It makes me mad to even think about such a show with a great subplot and well developed characters was canceled so quickly. I think that I will try to go watch some old episodes of it right now on Youtube. LOL.
shareBrimstone had a great cast, so did Forever which was canceled last year.
shareYes, Forever did have an excellent cast. It was my favorite show last year. I was hoping that Hulu would pick it up so it could continue but no such luck.
shareAlmost Human and Forever are recent shows that had top notch casts, and yet they got no love, and were not given any slack.
It is surprising that the networks are run like a Dollar Store, and there is no interest in nurturing a good show, and nobody that takes a long view on the potential of a show.
New Amsterdam is on the list.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
shareTru Calling
shareAlien Nation! After one season that ended in a cliffhanger. So, it came back on FOX for several years in 5 TV movies with a larger budget to continue and end the series. My family and so many fans loved this show which dealt with a lot of issues, like racial, and it was an emotional show with the aliens and humans and families trying to get along. I have this show on DVD and the movie collection also.
shareI used to wonder why Fox would keep picking up great shows then doing crappy marketing and cancelling them during the first season. It just seems weird.
... until I had an epiphany - Fox buys shows that aren't worth running for them, but which would leach significant audience from them if it ran on another network. They buy it to kill it.

Just how other big companies work. Like for instance there is something that could rival big oil? bought and shelved.
