Anyone else get second thoughts about foreign travel?

I don't know but there is something about this show that just gives me bad feelings about traveling to these countries. I'm not sure if it's because it shows lack of protection for foreign travelers? Please I have not traveled much beyond 48 states so this is completely based on my own opinion when I watch this show. So perhaps it just a naivety...

We've gone to these countries where people warn us not to do certain things, go certain places, or we could get mugged, knifed, shot, etc. (drug dealers/growers, guerrillas, dirty cops), and we've done those things (I know we're probably not too smart but we like adventure). No problem so far.

And then recently while in Canada, we got a bit nervous. It was really funny, actually. Go all over the world with no problem, and then have youths trashing things and screaming obscenities in the street of a small town in Canada.

Its weird, when you plan to visit the US, people warn you about savage human flesh eating rednecks, drive-by's of gangstaz from da hood, KKK and other arian scum if you're not shiny white, crazy truck drivers with a chainsaw in case your car breaks down on a road to nowhere and of course everybody's recent favourite: TZA - The Trumpist Zombie Apocalypse. If you're not with 'em (and hispanic) they gonna deport you and make you pay for the ticket.

I suppose in these days it feels dangerous whenever you leave your little bubble of safety at home.

With this kind of mentality I recommend you stay home forever.
