Why do you watch X Company?

I don't like war stories, but anything that Stephanie Morgenstern and Mark Ellis create is amazing. However, the real reason I watch the show is because Evelyne Brochu is in it. How about you?

I watch because there were a couple of compelling episodes in latter S1. So I watch in a sort of scanning way. The show is too conventional for my taste. With the exception of one episode in particular, it feels dated and draws attention to its artifice. It looks and feels just like a TV show, and I never lose awareness of that. Generally speaking, I find things happen in ways I'd expect, and it seems repetitive.

So I look to see how the first act is going and that determines how I watch the rest. If it's another "okay" episode and I can't invest wholly I'll pick certain scenes to watch with more care, and for the rest my attenton won't be 100% engaged. Sometimes I'll fast-forward certain bits (anything w/Hugh Dillon). That way I'm more or less up to date on context if/when a scene, or hopefully a whole episode, comes along that has the potential to fully engage me.
