Bill Burr co-created, co-wrote, and voiced the lead for this project, so what exactly were you expecting?

This is practically an entire show dedicated to and revolving around his stand-up bits about his father, which are arguably among his funniest.

Just do yourself a favor and wait for 'Fuller House' to start streaming; nice and clean for your wholesome Christian values.

As an Atheist, I love shows set in the 70's about lapsed Catholics growing bitter about their middle class lot in life and their annoying brood of mouth breathers because condoms were for suckers...or something.

And if you lived in a house where nobody blew up and yelled "goddamn" occasionally, then you aren't human.

YEAH, BITCH! MAGNETS!

reply

Even the foul language can't make this funny.

"Sorry I'm late guys. I was taking a crap."
Paul Newman

Exactly. Anyone who thinks this isn't annoyingly reminiscent of their (especially 1970s) childhood, they are repressing too much. Everyone's family has:
- A dad who blows up sometimes
- Strife over who works the most
- KIds who screw up at school
- Kids who get in fights
- Swearing!
- Weird neighbors
- Disappointments
- Dashed hopes and dreams
- Annoying, pear-shaped, whiny divorcees
- Broken down cars
- Sucking up to the boss
- Being screwed over by stores
- Lazy, shiftless coworkers
- TV dinners
- ...

You God Damn quitter!

reply

Yeah baskercasebelial, I guess I am a god damn quitter ;)

but honestly, I don't know who bill burr is either and just don't get the type of humour that consists of yelling and swearing. My first post was kind of a joke though, a person can't make a snap judgment about a show in two minutes. Maybe I'll attempt to watch the show again since some people seem to say it's good

I like the comments on this thread that got offended and immediately brought religion in as an argument. Sometimes I wonder if Christians get more offended over religious topics or if Athiests do.

Never heard of Bill burr so had no idea what to expect. I've seen the 1st and xmas episodes. It was okay. Seemed like they crammed so much cussing into it just to try to shock people and because they can. meh, cussing doesn't shock me or offend me at all. Use all the gd's and f bombs and sh*t sticks you want, just be funny. And it's a-ight. Hopefully it will continue and become even funnier. I liked the 70's premise.

It's not for shock value, based on his stand-up it seems like a good chunk of this show is loosely based/inspired by Bill's childhood.

meaningless words bother you that much? Although I don't say that, most people do...

oh, using God's name in vain? that part?
God is non-existent, he's an imaginary being created by humans as a form of mind control of the masses.

its pure 70's era sterotype middle class family useing bill burrs stand up and michael price's writeing from simpsons and other shows he's worked on. this show is not gonna appeal to everyone. there is always king of the hill, simpsons, bobs burgers, american dad and family guy to go watch that may be more your speed on netflix
