His tail?

I had heard from some online reviews when the movie came out in Japan about how at the end of the movie it shows some humanoid figures coming out of his tail. Then I saw the images of them. Has anyone heard of any theories as to what they mean?

Well through out the movie they constantly described Godzilla as a god So the way I interpreted it was Godzilla was creating a race in it's own image (Like others have said it's more then likely due to being attacked by these tiny *beep* so it evolved to the point of making little *beep* of his own)

Probably something along the lines of godzilla being an aggregate emergent monster thats actually a collection of smaller beings linked up. In reality though I don't think even the writers know what they are yet. They're probably in the process of making up a story about it now. Hopefully it will be good.

Sequel will have Godzilla zombies.

I thought mini godzillas were going to come out and attack Madison Square Garden like in Emmerich's Godzilla (1998)

Haha, Godzilla 98' also came to my mind in that scene!

I wonder if the tail was symbolism for the Ouroboros (the dragon, or serpent eating it's own tail).

A description from wikipedia:

...often taken to symbolize, introspection, the eternal return or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself. It also represents the infinite cycle of nature's endless creation and destruction, life and death.

I feel it does tie-in with the interpretation of Godzilla in this film. Big G's tail is prominently featured throughout the film. Infact, the tail is the first, and last thing of Godzilla's anatomy shown in the film. The re-creating bit is obviously linked to Godzilla's hyper-evolution. Then there's creation through the tail (creatures emerging from the tail at the end), as well as destruction (atomic tail breath).

I'm not sure if I'm overthinking this, but it makes sense to me.

I thought it was refeference and symbolism of Babel Tower.
People wanted to meet and see God and this is how it ended for them.

So apparently, Godzilla's tail not only forms humanoid figures, but also has a pair of workable jaws complete with teeth as well.

Never saw that angle before. That's...radical. Surreal even.

I remember a while back someone on these boards mentioned the possibility of a mouth at the tail as the reason why it was able to shoot atomic breath out of it. I don't remember who it was it was, but I recall they mentioned seeing a jaw and teeth. Good catch on their part.

Wasen't there a brief shot of something jaw-like moving on Godzilla's tail? It was a short shot during the time Godzilla was immobilized in the city.

Actually, the post is on page one of this thread. User was Ekim1982

I heard an interesting theory regarding those humanoid figures on Godzilla's tail. Since Godzilla is supposedly a conglomeration of organic material onto an ancient species, it's possible that the corpses of the people that died during the tidal wave of 2011 ended up being absorbed into the main mass.

So gross...they did an excellent job.
