ok, spoil this for me please...

alas, I didn't make it through this boring slog.

can some one spoil this plot point for me:

was there ANY relativity to the point about the land the guy got with the dowery, verses the land the other guy got, and how maybe owning the girl or killing one of them gave the other all the land?

I guess I got far enough see who got to own what, but then fast skipped to the end, and don't recall see how those lands factored in to everything. Maybe that was an unexpanded plot direction that could have made the whole thing much more interesting? Maybe I should be a writer? :D

the land didn't really factor in to it. It was just another slight that Matt Damon felt was made against him by Adam Driver and Ben Affleck.

wow. that could have been everything.

- she said she LOVED that one section of land, could have been a big plot point about keeping your youthful memories alive, where she set up a circle of deceit where you don't know where it would end up.

- damon fighting for his right to get that to her, his ability to man up and take back his rightful heir

- driver maybe a plot WITH the girl to get him killed so driver could get all the land AND the girl etc etc

instead it was nothing. man, writing sucks these days!
I know it was sort of based on some real event... did you see those large people gathering shots around the dual? do we really beleive that 100,000 people would stop their lives and fill the country side to be near a dual they have no way of seeing, and probably barely know those dueling??? Stupid cgi fests....

reply

wow.
How about you WATCH the fucking movie and then comment?

It is a great film, just sit for 2h and enjoy it.

It was the first of many slights that Matt Damon's character suffered thru Adam driver's character; it made it easier to go after him later.
