The team that was hired to do away with John Dutton was shown to be VERY meticulous, paying attention to every detail so as not to get caught....and they decided that making his death look like a suicide would be the way to go.
And while they apparently did take into account that there would be security cameras all around the Gov's mansion.....the way they dealt with it (shutting off the power grid in the area for just that specific window of time) was beyond sloppy and careless. It would make it obvious right away to investigators that this was a murder, designed to look like a suicide.

No, it would make it look like a happenstance that was suspicious, but unprovable. Look how the camera's just happened to be out during Epstein's "suicide". But even if you're right and the investigators suspect it was an assassination, they still need to do more than suspect - they have to prove it. They found Dutton's fingerprints on the gun and gun residue on his hand "proving" he fired the shot.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch, but even I doubt the events of Epstein's death. Still, while everyone may "know" Epstein was snuffed, we have to accept it. No arrests have been made nor will there be.
With John Dutton, there would be less suspicion in his "suicide" than Epstein's. They Hillaried John Dutton on the first day of his impeachment hearings which lends some credibility to the story.
But even if the plan blows up and Jamie, Sarah, and the professional hit company gets caught, it's still not a "plot hole".
What stretches credibility though is that there would be no battery backup for the security cameras. Even today, cheap Ring cameras often have battery backup for those hard wired (mine do). We have to just ignore certain things in the interest of compelling story telling. reply share
I think the suspicious timing of the power grid outage will generate (pardon the pun) a full-on investigation. Especially since Kaycee made that call. An investigation is the last thing that hit firm wanted. But you're right, sometimes you just need to go with it and not nit pick, in the name of compelling stories.
