This movie tries, early on, to present Cobain as a "starchild" that was so sweet and special, but what stood out was his childhood temper tantrums and being unruly. Unruly to the point that no one could tolerate him for too long. Agreed he came from a white trash family that would make anyone unhappy, but for all the character adornment, all I saw was ugliness that makes Kid Rock almost look sophisticated.

The best illustration of Cobain's character and soft heartedness are on display in his own diary(or what have you), where he tells in classy detail about(in his words) "asking the fat, retarded girl to *beep* Wow, that kinda class is rare. I see why everyone loves him and if those aren't the eloquent words of a "genius" I don't know what is.

Apologies to all overweight people reading this.

Another thing I found amusing was how he spelled "sure," LOL geniuses always spell it "shore."

With all that said, it's always sad when someone kills themselves. But as for him being a genius or super talented I say "NO!" He just wrote lyrics that teens(other than myself) related to and people always have to create heroes to worship.

"White trash", a phrase that combines snobbery and racism. Actually if you look at some of the places he lived in, he was lower middle class by origin.

I'm white and have the right to be honest about the trashy element of my race and that's decency not snobbery. For example, Honey Boo Boo comes from white trash and so does Cobaine. I don't care what his families income level was, he was white trash as demonstrated by his unholy union to Courtney Love, who was a healthy chunk of white trash herself.

You guys need to stop defending this bit-o-white trash and open your eyes to what he really was. I know it's hard, because I'm obviously talking to his fans, but I used to think Metallica were geniuses till one day they started wearing makeup, dressing like pimps and playing something that is NOT METAL.

I now have to admit they were never geniuses and only benefited from Cliff Burton and Dave Mustaine's influence. Once those were all used up Metallica became *beep*.

You're a snob then. Seems to be the uniting factor in American politics, no one likes the people who do the physical work. Republicrats do little or nothing for them and so called liberals are so far up their moneyed backsides to have much of a connection with them and sneer at their lack of access to expensive education. Mind you a lot of Americans seem to be under the delusion that they are "temporarily embarassed millionaires" as someone once said.

Oh and by the way, it is perfectly possible to make stupid comments about one's own ethnicity.

So you don't like Nirvana. So what. Many people don't. Metallica are nothing to do with this and are long burnt out. I'm old enough now to see some of where Cobain went wrong but his origins were not his choice.
