This cancellation hurts so bad!

This was in my opinion the greatest horror themed show on TV. It really is a big loss and I doubt we will ever have a show like that on our screen again. I did not like the cliff hanger and I sort of wish Starz would have let the creators know so that they could have given us an ending that felt more like a closure. I really f-ing hate when a show ends for good on a stupid annoying cliffhanger. Cliffhanger should only be used when the future of a show is a sure thing. So frustrated by this. Not only we say goodbye to an awesome show we also have a last episode that feels like it is not an ending at all...

Actually they kind of knew the series may not be picked up so the ending works as a finale. They can continue the show from this point if they wanted to, but they don't need to since the prior story is finished. Its not a cliffhanger so much as an open ending. Same thing they do in movies when they think it could get a sequel, but may not.

I think you're looking at it wrong. I don't believe that was meant to be a cliffhanger at all. I'm pretty sure they knew all season that the show might not be picked up based on the uncertainty after Season 2, so they had ample time to make a fitting series finale, which I feel they did. In my opinion, they created the perfect series finale, but left an option, just in case the show was renewed, where they could bridge to a new season. Would you have wanted a finale where Ash and company defeat the evil and go off into the sunset to live the rest of their lives happy in a perfect world (that was basically the season 2 finale, and not many were too keen on that). Or would you rather have Ash do his Savior thing and win the current battle with the evil dead, but also know that somewhere or sometime out there he is still doing what he does best and shoving his shotgun up some deadite's ass.

That was my take on how they meant the finale to be.

Yeah I see what you mean..

I'm with you on the suckiness of the cancellation. I would have kept watching that damn show even if it ran for 20 seasons as long as Ash was the central character. But if it had to end now, I couldn't have asked for anything more in a finale.

GOODBYEEEEE HIGH PRICES!

Yea the finale made the cancellation suck so much more.Ash driving around apocalyptic future in a souped up car kicking evils ass. That ending made me want more.Well i guess i don't need starz anymore. This was pretty all i watched on that channel.

Yhea it just left us hanging for more, now its up to us to use our imagination to find out what happens next :(

reply

Yeah, God forbid that you have to engage your imagination. So much work! ARRRGGGHHH!

Great job taking things literally R_Kane ! All I am saying is that I would rather watch things played out on the screen with the actors and screenwriter on board rather than playing guessing game in my head! I like a show to have an actual ending rather than ending on a huge cliffhanger. There is a reason why Europe never used the alternate ending of the Army of Darkness that see Ash in the future because this is an ending that begs for a sequel ! Same with the show , people might sugar coat it but the ending promises great things that we will never ever see now that Bruce Campbell is retiring.

How odd that I would take words literally.
