Questions about the real events

- If the plan was to murder the US ambassador, why sacrifice so many soldiers trying to assault repeatedly the US secret base when the ambassador was already killed?
- Why did they stop the mortar attack?

reply

Because your a cry baby that's why

reply

Only a wuss calls "CRY BABY"! The real story is only found when you follow the money, and then also all the murder for fun and, of course, all the cover-up. You ought to know about all the drugs & prostitutes too, like how the American tax payers were so nice to have every military company to transport whores every day in a war to the appreciative U.S. warriors.
Always a real blast!
Thanks Uncle Sam

WHY are you crying? O yeah, you never got any good prostitutes. I see your axe. I know why you are grinding it. GTFO.

How would they know the Ambassador was dead?

 Entropy ain't what it used to be.

I hope the Clinton campaign isn't paying you more than minimum wage to do these posts; because if so, they're not getting their money's worth.

Lol I know I keep seeing this guy...

what do you say you and me jerk him off a bit eh?

So much for that plan, huh? And you two inbred morons were going to have soooo much fun "jerking me" for making fun of this stupid movie, too! Yeeeeehawwwwww!

The date of the attack was obviously 9/11 and there's also rumors that Amb Stevens was to have been "kidnapped" and then he would be exchanged for the Blind Sheik's release, who's still in prison for the first bombing of the World Trade Center in Feb., 1993. There's also the persistent rumors that believe it or not, this regime allowed Amb Stevens to be assassinated because he leaked the info that military arms were being funneled through Libya to arm the Syrian Rebels who eventually became ISIS. Don't forget that Amb Stevens requested more security over 600 times but Hillary's State Dept didn't lift a finger. And the President STILL hasn't said where exactly he was for those 13 hours.

I'm not American but I've said it numerous times before no matter that the United States Armed Forces is the most powerful projection and technological advanced military in the World doesn't mean they can support or provide "back up" for US citizens or "CIA contractors" wherever they are based in the world in a matter of a couple of hours!

In the movie they are all talking about and needing a AC-130 gunship which they where were they hoping for that never came! IMHO they should have scrambled the F-16s from Aviano, Italy regardless of whether they were armed and just provided a "show of force" flyover!

The protection of Ambassador Stevens and his death is the responsibility of the Diplomatic Security Service!

Since they haven't said what he was doing, I guarantee he was sleeping.

Saying that Hillary's State Dept didn't lift a finger is false. She requested more funds to provide more security to embassies but the republicans in congress denied it and cut funding instead.

Hillary is it you?

I'm going to have to call b.s. on this one my friend. You can keep whining about the Republicans in Congress, but the buck stops with Killary. And you had better believe those working at the annex told the State Dept and I quote (from a person that I know who was there) "if you don't get us help, we are all going to die".

Please save your Killary propaganda for the Kool Aid drinkers such as yourself.

He was probably practicing his golf strokes out on the WH lawn (with all the lights on).

So much hate yet so little answers. This dude asked some real questions, why is everyone being so negative and offensive towards him and the entire issue? It seems as if he either has a point and you just don't wanna admit it/know what to you or you're all just out of your way, talking like that. This is the Internet, true but it doesn't have to be this way... There were a lot of plot holes and REAL answers haven't actually been answered. This movie is obviously an homage towards those people that died during these events, but not quite a *beep* informative on all the other vital information... By the end, it tried to bring some empathy thru information that showcased how that 10k Lybians or whatever the number has mourned the death of the Ambassador but what about Lybia, what about the illegal secret base CIA had there... how is all this other info not repulsive or at least questioned? Again, by the end, Bay brought some more info on what happened afterwards but it all seemed to be in favor of the United States. As if they were the good guys. Not saying the attackers were good either but you can't just make such a movie and portray the U.S. as the hero party... Just my 2 cents. This is coming from someone with 0 interest in politics and world domination whatsoever. I live in Transilvania, Romania, I don't really care about the issue so I'm pretty much unbiased. All I'm saying is that it feels as if this movie isn't really covering the real issues of this entire situation but rather the events during the attack and the good part of the aftermath, that's also in favor of the U.S. What about all the other *beep* up things? Where does that come? After credit? Idk man, felt wrong...

reply

Actually I am not american, nor live in the USA, and am not really interested in its politics, or at least I don´t take sides. Because, you know, I am not from there. But you´re tight, this is the internet.

You may live in a poor Eastern European country and because so many of your brothers have pissed off and left to work and live in a First World country that being the United Kingdom seeking jobs that is why Britain left the European Union so good work 

This ain't Black Hawk Down where the US military went out into a city. The CIA Security Operators were there to covertly provide CPU for CIA Agents trying to buy MANPADS off Libya's people who raided Guddafi's armouries before they hit the black market. Then simply they were standing there ground at the Annex. They didn't start shooting until there was hostile intent! Like they said, they ain't going to prison for shooting an unarmed man.

Coming from a new yorker that's lived in both places i'll take Romania over London anytime. I found London to be boring and pompous but I partied hard in Bucharest and by the black sea summertime. Thank god you britards left the union because I now don't have to visit you miserably rainy island any longer. (I am a eu bureaucrat)

Benghazi is a touchy subject for the American people and government which is why most of the real issues were washed out of the film. If bay had balls to show it all... it could have even led to an Oscar nom for him but he remains a two bit director. He's ruined transformers and ninja turtles; what cartoon is next?

reply

The 'bad guys' were so dumb. No plan of attack, no tactics, just a few wasted human charge on the compound where many die. I also ask, "Why stop the mortars?" Those mortars could have won it for them.

reply

Um, because maybe they ran out ? Do you think they just have unlimited mortars laying around in Libya ? You could see buying weapons on the black market was the way to get them and there were not huge quantities, as they have no military infrastructure there.

Also, its a movie. Maybe they fired 30 mortar rounds, but they only show like 4 rounds in the movie..movie time is different. The film was already 2 hrs 14 minutes....they didn't need to make it 3 minutes longer by showing you another 20 redundant mortar strikes.

Movie was long as it was. Anyway, I don't know what the number was, but it was probably more than that, its just what movies do to condense time. And, as I said...this was not an army, they probably only had a limited amount, which was effective, but not long lasting. Whether it was 15, 30, or 100...the movie showed 4 or 5 to save time, and still get the point across..which is exactly what you are supposed to do as a director.

If you read the book only FIVE mortars were fired at the Annex with a hand sketch illustration of where each impacted in the book all on or around Building C. As to why only FIVE mortars were fired is anyone's guess however with such accurate fire hitting the roof if 15-30 mortars were fired it would start to level the Building to rubble and all the CIA personnel inside!

The 81mm HE Mortars have a kill radius of 40 metres and a danger radius of 190 metres meaning a sustained accurate mortar attack on the Annex would have destroyed many Buildings and killed a lot of American lives!

I see your point, seems a logical enough explanation - running out of ammo because maybe they fired 10 or 12 salvos before until they got a lock and they didn´t really have that many shells. I disagree on your statement ".. is exactly what you are supposed to do as a director.." though. IMHO you can explain why the mortars stopped way better. In the movie it just seems they had two or three shells and that wouldn´t make much sense.

For the 100th time there was no opening salvo of "10 or 12" mortars fired prior, ONLY FIVE mortars were fired onto the Annex Building C in the early hours of 12th of September in which mortars 3, 4 and 5 being direct hits killing Rone and Glen..

IMHO you can explain why the mortars stopped way better. In the movie it just seems they had two or three shells and that wouldn´t make much sense.

Now if you read the book on Page 270 Tanto said: "When no more mortars launched, he believed that some members of the ten-car motorcade had in fact gone in pursuit of the attackers and had chased them off."
The Jihadis only fired FIVE mortars and I doubt very highly they ran out of mortar ammunition.

I believe either 17 Feb or another pro American militia stopped the mortar attack until they could fire any more mortars!

Moreover: While "Jack" waited for word, he stewed over how accurate the mortars were. "Three direct hits on a relatively small rooftop were as remarkable as they were lethal. They had to have somebody spotting them, he thought. Somebody was around, probably at an elevated position looking down at us. They hit the wall, and then they corrected and those last three were right on target."

It also occurred to "Jack" that "the attackers had targeted the single most important and most crowded building inside the walls. Building C housed the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility and the operators’ Team Room, which logically made it the Command Post, and therefore the most likely place for Americans to have taken refuge."

"To be that accurate, "Jack" thought, that precise with those mortars, they had to have been very proficient, and they had to have known the exact location of that building."

Maybe their enemies had done it by dead reckoning, a product of trial and error with help from a concealed spotter. Another possibility was that the attackers had used latitude and longitude coordinates provided by a GPS device, perhaps in a car that drove up to the front gate, or on the smartphone of someone walking outside the Annex.

So there is a couple of theories as to why the Islamic Jihadis only fired FIVE mortars before stopping and scattering.

Thanks, so there´s the explanation. As I said before, the movie does a poor job not explaining it.These lines ""When no more mortars launched, he believed that some members of the ten-car motorcade had in fact gone in pursuit of the attackers and had chased them off."
The Jihadis only fired FIVE mortars and I doubt very highly they ran out of mortar ammunition. " should have been included somehow.

Yep, there's money in military mythology but many facts are easy to find about military contractors (payed military). Google it or copy & paste http://listverse.com/2014/01/07/11-frightening-facts-about-private-military-companies/
Yes, it's an entertaining film, but there's SO much dirt in the closet it's oozing out all over everywhere.
