a perfectly good list, i'd say. there's some films i love and some that i don't in there, naturally, but we're allowed to be different. the harshest thing i'd say is that it's kinda front-loaded with what some might call obvious picks (your shinings, exorcists, stuff like that) but they're obvious for a reason i suppose, and lots of people love them.
hooray for rec at 28.
This is my happening and it freaks me out.
Yeah I love Rec. Obviously with 50 films there will be som disagreement. But thanks

Good list. I agree with most of your picks. The only issue I have is that you don't have many pre-1960 titles. In fact, you have only 1 film on the list that was released prior to 1960. Do you not like older movies, or have you just not gotten around to seeing them yet?
Also, what about Italian gialli like Deep Red and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, or even Whatever Happened to Solange?
Thanks. I have Nosferatu, Frankenstein and Dracula omn the list. I love older movies. I will have to check out your recommendations.
shareSorry about that. I had skipped over Dracula and Nosferatu. Still, I'd encourage you to at least check out a few other older films, like FREAKS, THE WOLF MAN, and THEM. Also, have you seen the 1978 remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS? It rates pretty high for some people.
Good luck, and have fun.
Invasion of the body snatchers is on my list. Wolf Man is good. Freaks I have yet to see. Have you seen The Invisible Man (1933) ?
shareYeah, it's not one of my favorites. I love the special effects, but the film isn't one that I enjoy returning to. Some love it, though, and I wouldn't begrudge them of that.
shareHave you ever seen any of the Italian horror films from the 70's and 80's? I am a big fan of Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci. Other then then that I certainly won't argue with the list, most of them are my favourites as well. Though I have to admit I never saw the appeal of the remake of the Ring but I saw a copy of the Japanese version years before the remake came out but that's just personal taste.
shareThanks. Italian horror films I have yet to watch. I'm gone check out some Dario films. Have you seen Wishmaster by the way? I love that movie.
shareI think your list is pretty great! A lot of my favorites of all time, especially in the first half. You have to check out the work of Dario Argento! And might I suggest "Don't Look Now" by Nicholas Roeg and "Repulsion" by Roman Polanski and "Salem's Lot" by Tobe Hooper.
