Her large boobs??? I think Jodelle Ferland is good as Five and I don't think she is too old to play a teenager and there have been older actors and actresses than Jodelle who have played teenagers in lots of TV shows.

I think the casting director looked for an actor who was like Ms Ferland, when she was younger. Ms Ferland used to be perfect for this role, physically, as she was a tiny kid, tiny teenager, who specialized in playing mysterious, elfin kids.

I suggest they looked for a young actor who was as capable of playing mysterious and elfin as Ferland, but who was young enough to still look like a kid.
I think they looked for someone like that, and just couldn't find a young Jodelle Ferland type, so they fell back to hiring the actual Jodelle Ferland
