Yea, interesting question, i guess she is not spending much money and i imagine having gotten a little money with just one hack would be enough for her for years.
Regarding Elliot i think he had a high paying job for a while and i imagine he also hardly spent money.

How do you figure? He had to pay rent, which is notoriously high in NYC. Plus, he was destroying his computer and buying new hardware on a regular basis.
As a side note, non-volatile memory (such as a hard drive) is the only thing that needs to be "destroyed" (it really isn't necessary to physically destroy it like he did though), yet they showed him destroying RAM and motherboards too, which is ridiculous and expensive. To make matters even more ridiculous, he kept a bunch of CDs containing all of the data he hacked from various people's computers. If he was okay with keeping those CDs, protected only by steganography, then why did he feel the need to physically destroy his computer hardware?
