a minor issue on the sci-fi front

their time travel experiments have revealed a way for everyone to become immortal -
that is, they can make anyone younger while retailing their memories.

How is that not a big thing?

I mean, forget about time travel - which, they said doesn't lead to changes in the present - but the aging bit - that's a huge discovery - better than accessing dark energy that the soul stone lady did in order to remain young.

How did they show a way for people to become younger?

I am sure that Steve did not age as fast because of the super serum.

reply

When they were doing the time travel experiments, they got the antman to 'go in the past' - instead, they simply reverted his age or made him older in another case.

reply

OK, thanks for clarifying. I agree with you that if they can control that aspect you can at least prevent yourself from dying of old age.

With their explanation of time travel, that bit just doesn't make any sense. It's more likely just a throwaway joke that you aren't supposed to dwell on.

Otherwise all of those people in Scott's suit were alternate universe version of himself, in which case they wouldn't remember anything.

I think Fountain of Youth is the MCU's least worry when it comes to opening up a can of worms like time travel. Technically it should be the go to answer for any problem in future MCU movies.

reply

Yeah, but the scene was funny. And this is still a comic book movie, right? So I think being comical is more important than being scifically correct.
