Will he actually be named Ronin. There is already a Ronan in the MCU. And (spoiler) he is going to be in Captain Marvel, which comes out right before Endgame

True. Considering they've only said Hawkeye once in all the movies, I doubt they will be calling him Ronin too much, if at all.

I bet they're tracking down this "Ronin" guy and are then shocked to discover that it's Hawkeye. Otherwise, I don't see how you work in the lore that Hawkeye is some "other persona" at all.

I imagine his family is Snapped and he figures it was one of his enemies, so he's now going around killing former enemies. Since he's still a fugitive, it makes sense for him to wear a mask and everything. As for tracking him down, Cap and widow need all the help they can get if they're going after Thanos again, so they might as well find him.

Since the movie has not been released, we don't know if he even has a name change and if so, why he changed it.

When did they actually say "Hawkeye"?

I can't recall - was it in the first Avengers where he's keeping watch over Selvig?

It was during the Chitauri invasion at the end. Black Widow says it over the radio.

I thought the Russians called her Black Widow at the start of the 2012 Avengers movie, and pretty sure Scott said, "It's the Falcon," when he was trying to break into the Avengers facility

The Russians called her Black Widow, yeah. Oddly enough, the words were never spoken in English.

As for Falcon, I just glimpsed the clip on youtube. He does say "It's the Falcon". I didn't catch that

I think Cap is the only one who pretty much always gets called by his alias. You hear Rogers more than Steve but its almost always Cap.

BTW Thor doesnt count, its his name.

He could take the Ronin identity and not be called Ronin. Someone migut call him Hawkeye or even Clint and he could reply with the good ol’ “that’s not who I am anymore.” Besides, it’d be strange, at least to me, if he completely changes his identity (losing his family is what’ll likely make him adopt this new identity) and doesn’t go by a different name.

But perhaps he won’t go by this moniker -- his reputation in the underworld might earn him that name. And if he does get called Ronin, I doubt there will be much confusion over this. Sure, many unfamiliar with the Ronin mantle might think of RonAn at first. However, I don’t see the similar sounding names being an issue overall.
