I didn't see Venom or Aquaman, so I can only offer that both looked utterly awful, critics didn't think much of them (especially Venom), and the only positive remarks I heard from those who'd seen either were along the lines of "it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." Captain Marvel, on the other hand, I watched and thought it was terrific, and I've yet to hear anyone say otherwise in my day to day life. It was exactly what one wants from a superhero film, and it made for a perfect lead-in to Endgame. Beyond that, I agree with you: box office and quality are more or less unrelated, and the amount of money a film makes in no way reflects its merit.
