When they were begged to save something of Earth's culture? Was it the guy's memories? What did they leave for other passers-by to find?

ChocolateButt is correct. Do you remember the young Milo as a kid sitting in the broken down car with that guy listening to that beautiful classical music? I think The Overlords searched his mind/memories for something quickly and found this. Milo then thanks him and the planet explodes.
