Did this accidentally rescue Aquaman and the DCEU?
People don't seem too fond of this and Aquaman is doing well enough atm that it shows the suits at WB that the DC movies still have legs.

shareExcept they lost Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Amy Adams apparently.
shareTrue. Now if things continue or start to pick up for the DCEU after Aquaman (64% on the grand Tomatometer is respectable but it’s far from great as many were expecting after the early buzz — though its financial success is the matter at hand here, right?), the truth is the DCEU as we KNEW IT is no more.
But in regards to the main topic... I don’t see how one affects the other in the long run. At all. Fact is Aquaman is unlike any DCEU movie that came before it, and if this latest entry in the DCEU is a big hit at the Box Office (those domestic numbers will tell the story), then the DCEU won’t be rescued so much as it would probably be reinvented.
On a side note - I remember seeing reports a while back saying that the DCEU was going to start being called “World’s of DC”.
I wonder what happened to that.
