People making noises at the gore scenes in the cinema

I mean is it really necessary? Fine if it's just an involuntary gasp (like laughing during a comedy), but do you need to go "UURRRRGHHHHHH GROOSSSS MAN" at the top of your voice and then proceed to whisper about it for five minutes after?

It's no less acceptable than talking during a film. And don't bring your girlfriend if she can't handle it and has to keep whispering to you about it to diffuse her anxiety.

Well a certain amount of audience participation is part of the fun of cinema. Not talking or chatting or phone obviously, but gasping, laughing etc.

I quite like audience reactions at the cinema, genuine reactions, not bombastic. I watched a film called We need to talk about Kevin a few years ago and I had an involuntary need to say "oh for *beep* sake" or something along those lines at a particular scene.

I don't think people are doing it on purpose, it's just an automatic reaction to something like that, it happens plenty of times.

Why do you think people react when they see someone get hit in the nuts?

Rochdale Odeon is my local, 6 miles away from where I live and it's bad for talking, Paedostanis in their gangs reeking of grass, feet up on seats, laughing......just a different breed - I actually get the train into Manchester from Littleborough to avoid it all, I'm dreading going to see 'Split' in 3 weeks time, gonna bring a hatchet with me for anyone that even mutters so much as one word! :)
