Silly premise for a series
The Devil, who hates people (so we're told), comes to earth and gets along with many of us, for fun? Really?

shareI take it you haven't watched the show before? It's a great and funny show and you might actually learn a thing or two watching it.
Watched the first one. Boring and camp, for teens.
shareits a teen related series I agree
share"The Devil, who hates people (so we're told), comes to earth and gets along with many of us, for fun?"
Told by who?.This is a completely false description of this show. The Devil isn't portrayed as evil on this show but rather someone who punishes those who commit evil acts.
"Boring and camp, for teens."
Well i'm 42 and i'm loving it.It's a fun procedural with a supernatural twist.Sorry if you don't care for it.Also the premise is no more silly than say a writer who helps the police solve crimes {Castle) or a zombie apocalypse that wipes out most of humanity {Walking dead}.
Well, you have the premise wrong. The Devil comes to Earth because he is tired of ruling Hell. He is still angry at God for sending him to rule Hell as punishment for his rebellion and does not want to rule anymore.
Lucifer feels that God controls everything and everyone and has a plan. Lucifer believes in free will the opposite of what his beliefs are the motivations for God's actions.
It is a very good show and your assessment of it being camp and for teens is off.
Not sure who told you that but Lucifer doesn't hate humans, he is angry at God who he blames for his own mistakes and loves to punish wrongdoers but wants a new career, new experiences.
shareHe was talking about the actual devil , not the one on the tv show
shareWho tells us the devil hates humans?
sharegood point . maybe the actual devil shares similar values to the tv show version
shareThere is a train of thought that the biblical devil, Satan, and Lucifer are not the same individual. Been a long time since I studied religion but I seem to remember some thinking that Lucifer was a human leader.
sharethe devil (in this case) isn't evil he just punishes evil humans are responsible for the evil they do he just gets blamed by them.
share"The Devil, who hates people (so we're told),"
says who? you need the good book in your life, son.
Terrific show, and the premise lends itself to all kinds of interesting story lines. The writing and cast are top notch.
shareHe doesn't hate people. He hates when people do bad things.
Maybe you are just assuming that he hates people?
Looks like a lot of people don't think its silly at all.
