Even though there were plans for another season, atleast the last episode ended well with the opening of Dirks actual Holistic Detective Agency office. Obviously it could have been better but it was wrapped up nice enough not knowing it would be their last.
I'm obviously still bummed they cancelled this show.
EDIT: also, i'll say it again, a must watch episode "SHAPES and COLORS". Especially the scene at the dance when they are under that (euphoria??) spell. Great comedic timing and background music and feel-good vibe.

This was an imaginative good show. Not sure why it was released on bbc america I never heard of this network before. I think the writer/creator Max Landis ran into some cancelling trouble (meaning he was cancelled)? One of my favorite podcasts covered the first season. Later on the same podcast were covering a different show and the topic of Max Landis came up and they podcasters basically disavowed and told everyone not to watch it which is ridiculous because if it wasn't good they would not have covered every episode of the first season. I can dislike / not support Roman Polanski but there's no way you can convince me that China Town is not one of the greatest films ever made.
sharecompletely agree. and yes, there was some accusations about Landis. The "FORMAL" reason they gave for the shows cancellation was because the production was costing more than they were making and I guess viewership was declining as well, like you implied.

I have to admit because it was such an imaginative show it wasnt for the casual viewer, I think. That being said, Samuel Barnett's way of breathing life into his character was worth watching alone. Seemed like he was definitely channeling a Doctor Who Matt Smith vibe. And I think it came off well done.
