Looking forward to season 2... Dont get the bad press.

Love the show couldnt stop watching it. Seems to have wierdly got some bad press not sure if netflix is greasing someones palms or something but thankfully viewers are making there own minds up.

Hope it gets more episodes as I want to see more of the characters and maybe more into the judges backroom deals. Seems the show has many paths it could take. Anyway I love it :).

To be fair, the show is really just not that great. I feel like its the same with Bosch (another amazon production). Its a decent show, its somewhat enjoyable but its galaxies away from really memorable and amazing TV.

I saw the pilot a year back and was actually looking forward to it, but Season1 turned out to be... well, okay, but nothing more. 6/10

I love it too. Watched the whole season in 1 day. Hope we get another season.

I'm really enjoying it, too. It's a little smarter than the typical TV shows I see on TV.

I have really enjoyed it. Did a binge in a day. Superb acting and just enough mysticism to keep you guessing. Loved it.

I am not religious myself, on the contrary.
But I loved the show!
There are people that believe in god and apparently that makes for a great show (this time)

I don't believe in ghosts either, but I love a good horror...
And pretty sure Hobbits don't exist either.

But it kinda felt like a 1 season series?
There i going to be a 2nd season for sure?

--- SPOILERS ---

* Everyone that was involved in the rape, is caught or dead.
* Parnell will most certainly go to jail
* The mayor got his concrete pour
* The son woke up... or did he?

The bad press is a head–scratcher. I'm usually on point with what is good or bad. Seeing this on Metacritic as a 44 and Quantico as a 70 throws me for a loop.

I don't get it either. Basically inhaled the show last weekend and thought it was excellent.

It gets 4.2/5 on Amazon and 7.7/10 here - neither rating does it justice.
I assume many people went watching it without knowing what it was really about, just based on the title. I can see where some really religious folk might take offense to some of the content - truthfully, it shouldn't offend anyone... seems pretty true to life/reality to me.

Thanks for this thread fishleg-520-337571 I was also put off by the bad reviews for HAND OF GOD, but after seeing the postive reactions here my girlfried and I have started watching it. We're two episodes in - and thoroughly enjoying every minute. It grips from the get go, the story is engrossing and addictive, the cast is terrific, it doesn't shy away from adult content and the sets and locations are fantastic.

Fact is, it's such a blast that we are saving the next eight episodes for Saturday and a serious binge watch.

I went on a major binge. This show is great. There are storylines that can be developed for each character that will hold the audience spellbound. Please let there be a Season 2. The season one finale'? I am still crying. Omg, what a show! Ron Perlman is crucial. Love him!

I am soo with you there, Chereese,I have watched the series twice already and I can tell you that TPTB are nuts not to totally green light Season 2. There were wayyy too many unanswered questions and yet another cliff hanger ending. I was like drop jaw and hanging on the edge of my seat at that last scene. 👏

And I have been watching Ron Perlman ever since I was a little girl watching Quest for Fire on TV. I have seen and loved him in Beauty and The Beast and every movie he has ever been in. He has made me feel his pain deeply and made me cry like a baby. He has also made me laugh. he deserves an Emmy for Hand of God!!!

I just finished my binge yesterday while laid up with a head and chest cold. I had it on my list from another IMDB post that recommended it.

A few of the actors are stellar.

The suspense and mystery kept me clicking next episode. I did figure that by the third or fifth episode the season finale was going to end with the kid in the coma taking his own breath. I still wouldn't call it predictable.

Every episode the question was "Is Purnell really crazy or is he getting some kind of message from beyond?" His hallucinations did get him on the right path to answers even though Purnell was just a bit too hasty in killing people off.

I hope there is a season two, this is just too good of a mystery to end without tying everything up.

No it doesn't and that's why the critics wrote the show off, imo. Just in the pilot, they completely screw up the doubt by having the cop his henchman kill confess to the rape before he dies.

I'm not religious but I have no problem with shows with a spiritual content, or even a bias, like this one, but they should have kept a doubt going longer. If he just stumbles on the rapist because of something "God" told him, then where's the doubt? Where's the question? It's just bad writing.
