"Kill De sac"

I live in a neighborhood full of kids. Sure it gets annoying but I just ignore them. They've never really done anything bad except gather in the street and play. That being said I can understand how the Military man neighbor would be annoyed by them coming on to his property. Unless they have permission you just don't do that. The Dad should have backed off when his neighbor told him not to come in the House. I don't believe it was premeditated murder.

I'm not saying the Dad deserved to die but he should've just walked away. The Princess Leah music video at the end was just bizarre. But I'm not sure how I'd react if it had happened to my Dad. The kids should have been disciplined and left the guy's yard alone. I have a feeling they were allowed to free reign and never told "no". Being told to stay off someone's property is not being "berated".

I just watched this episode and I read some of the comments that said the dad was drunk...but still, he didn't have a weapon and could have easily just shut the door if he was truly scared and called the cops AGAIN. He should have gotten some lower charge, at least. Sounds like a grade-A coward. It's easy to pick on kids and yell at them.

That being said I recognize we only get so much of the facts. It seems like he had that "I was here first" and everyone needs to act how I deem appropriate OR ELSE. Not suprisingly, he had no children.

I hope the family filed a wrongful death civil suit and ruined him financially. If this happened in 1995 it was probably before the "Stand your ground" laws that have been popping up over the last decade or so.

I'm so glad I don't live around A-Holes like that. I was once a kid and did similar things in the street. Honestly, if you don't want to deal with kids or basically neighbors as a whole, move out of a neighborhood and to someplace more off the beaten path. Problem solved. I know that ANY time I live in a neighborhood kids or people could move in at anytime and make noise, have parties, etc...as long as they're not bothering me or my property I don't care.

The dad should have walked away, but people can only take so much BS, esp. When you have an adult chastising small kids. I'd said the same thing "talk to me that way" not them.

Sad.
