Why did Quill lose his Celestial power?
Celestials are gods and should not lose their power so easily.
It said it in the movie. He got his power form his dad and with his dad dead, he no longer has the connectiion.
shareI don't think that's true. He is a celestial, a young one though who hasnt mastered their powers hence why he relied on his father's light. Why would his father need 2 celestials to remake the universe in their image if all of Quill's powers were all derived from his father? He must have his own light, own powers that his father needs to tap into to power the universe.
Does he stop being half human just because his mother died? He is still half celestial regardless of his father's death.
Maybe it doesn't make sense but that's how it worked in the movie.
shareIdk, I think his father just told him that to save himself. Also his father said that even Peter could create his own planet in a couple of million years. I think that shows how young Peter is and really needs about a billion years to reach his father's celestial knowledge. And to reference what I said earlier, that statement didn't fit why his father needed another celestial, Peter, in the first place.
shareWell, I mean shortly after Ego’s death, Quill stopped flying around and almost died going into space. Certainly, he didn’t have any powers in Infinity War or Endgame and they would have come in handy.

shareThat's your assumption and have yet to see the succeeding films. And if he had no powers whatsoever, why did Ego need him if Ego was relying on his own powers alone? Was Peter there just for decoration? How was Peter able to hold the infinity stone, use it and not die (when everyone else who had not the strength did?) if he was a mere terran with no powers whatsoever? There have been plenty of clues on Peter Quill's specialness in these 2 films but you seem to want to ignore them based on 1 line alone.
Idk why you keep going on and on about it. We clearly will never agree on this so just leave it as that.
This is not my assumption. This is me watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and paying attention to what's going on. And yes, I saw the subsequent movies in which Quill appeared. One of them was called Infinity War and the other was called Endgame.
