Speculating on who actually poisoned Jade

Feel free to just leave the character's name if you want.

If you feel compelled to explain why in detail, all the more better.

I have my own assumption and it isn't anyone I've come across yet in any of the other topics discussing episode 5.

I'm going to give my own answer regarding who I think poisoned her and hide it so that it doesn't influence your own answer in any respect. Well, at least, before you answer this to begin with anyway. Once you've responded with your own answer, feel free to view my answer at that point and we can discuss if you think I'm completely off my knockers or my guess is as good as anyone else's or quite possibly I've nailed it.

I'm thinking it's the lady who was hiding under the table with the child when Sunny and his Baron came back after attempting to hunt down the Widow. Given somewhat of her backstory and knowledge and then the Baron's response at the end of their scene, "thank you for your loyalty." She may be responsible for the Baron's original 2nd wife's death actually as well.

Like they say, time will tell.

reply

I thought it was obvious it was Jade.... They exchange looks before getting kicked out like a check mate, I got you.

And Ryder even said he told Jade about what happened to the last 2nd wife before kicking out Lydia...

How is this even a debate?

reply

I also thought it was obvious that Jade poisoned herself. There was a subtle but triumphant look she flashed Lydia, and the camera lingered on her look.

I'm thinking Jade did it to herself. First of all, she isn't dead. An experienced poisoner would have given Jade a dose that would have been lethal. If you look at the very surprised Lydia when Quinn accuses her with proof (and really, an experienced poisoner, especially the careful and wise Lydia wouldn't leave evidence to be easily found) then turn to a very triumphant looking Jade it seems clear to me that Lydia right then knew Jade did it to herself. Then there's the conversation with between Lydia and Ryder at the gate when Lydia surmises that her son must have told Jade about her poisoning Beatrice.

I keep my expectations low -- then I can be pleasantly surprised. You're fouling up my chi πŸ‘€

reply

I think she poisoned herself going by the look she gave Lydia when the Baron kicked her out. She gave a sly smile.

reply

I think she poisoned herself, to get the main wife out of the house. Didnt you see the look she gave back to her as she was leaving the room? She probably knew the right dose to give herself, and knew the nurse/doctor lady would come for her since they were good friends.

reply

Since this is a Chinese influenced show, the most likely plot as often happened in Chinese drama is that Jade poisoned herself.

reply

Are you people for real?

She poisoned herself right before comes to Queen to get rid of Lydia, think. looked at the looks on each other faces when Lydia was leaving. It was Jade herself.

reply

You people I cant believe are debating this! it's very obvious that she poisoned herself. you could see her little smile to Lydia as lydia went out. She plants the poison Under Lydia's floor and then just took a tiny bit. It's a simple way to get Lydia kicked out. No debate just very obvious fact.
