Not sure how the true blue Predator fans will take it but the gore, characters, action, and irreverent humor was enough for me. It's enjoyable if not a great Predator film.

first one of course is the best. That Adrien Brody one that came out a couple years ago was ok. This is pretty close to that I think. I don't really think much of the others.

Predator obviously gets the full 10 marks and sets the benchmark in terms of action/horror/stars and arnold's muscles/quips puts a few points towards that.
Predator 2 - gets a bad rep - I think the second one was just as about as good as they come in terms of a predator sequel without the 80's bigger hitters like the first one - maybe an 8 from me for that.
Predators - not bad but super predators were shite got taken out too easy - no challenge and no star power apart from danny trego who gets taken out first - 5.5
AVPs suck - big waste.
So its a mix ooon action and ooon comedy???

But, yeah, it’s being called a surprisingly funny movie (irreverently so). Although given that it’s Shane Black behind the wheel, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he brought his brand of black humor to this.
Do I mind? Not one bit. Could be refreshing for the franchise (sure the original has its funny bits but a comedy it ain’t). Besides the characters in this look like they’re having fun. So mixed reception aside, I am excited for it.
Same. I had a lot of fun with these characters though.

The happenings in the movie aren't illogical.
SPOILER - SPOILER - SPOILER - SPOILER - SPOILER - SPOILER
The mini-Predator crashes into the earth with his spaceship.
He falls right into McKenna-team's special action against the drug lords.
Then the mini-Predator is unconscious.
The main hero, sniper McKenna, takes part of his equipment.
When the mini-Predator later wakes up in the lab, everything has been taken from him, he's pinned to the table and gruesome aliens 👽 (humans) stare at him.
Even the most peaceful savior would go nuts.
So, the mini-Predator frees himself, assassinates almost everyone and is chased by the army to the school. The maxi-Predator catches him there.
That was it with the mini-Predator. 🥴
At the very end the surviving human heroes find the Predator suit, thinking it's a gift from the mini-Predator to humanity. Plausibly, cause they can use it as a prototype for alien technology and develop more combat suits out of it.
Whether the suit was really a gift from the mini-Predator can be doubted.
Perhaps the mini-Predator only took this combat suit with him when he fled, cause it was his only chance to survive against the maxi-Predator. 🐗
