I love when hollywood casts a smoking hot girl to play a dorky unpopular girl

I haven't seen this in all honesty but from seeing the trailer Joey King's character seems dorky and like an average unpopular girl, and i was thinking the whole time "Are you fucking kidding me? this girl is fucking gorgeous, in real life she'd be the queen of the school and every guy would be trying to break down her door to get with her". But i'm guessing in this she can't even get 1 guy to look at her.

It looks as though they didn't even make an attempt to make her appear unattractive, ya know maybe with a bad hairstyle, some glasses, ya know the cliche way to make a hot girl appear plain.

Ha, I agree that that's a stereotypical trope that movies use, but it's not the case here--she's pretty popular. She's just SO BUSY that she never had time to get a boyfriend! But no, all the dudes in the school want her.
