8.4 What!? maybe 5.5-6. 40 Best Movies? Cmon...

Here sniff this... jump, sing, spend lots, make lots- It shows the dizzying detachment from reality, Hollywood is in. It's only been out recently, and it moves straight to #43 best movies? Uhm No, Kinda weird, and it's not bad... it is entertaining at parts- but Not that good... unless u have a stake in the movie, I guess

The rating here is a great example of why you can't trust imdb ratings.

Distrust of the ratings works the other way, of course. A lot of movies are rated too low. Which means that once the dust settles with this one, even if its rating is lower it can't be trusted by some.

It is going down. It was 27 some days ago. Currently 40.

Agreed.

The ratings on IMDB change very quickly because it is mostly millennials voting for newer movies and while putting it into the Top 40 films of all time might seem like a bit much as movies go in 2016 it is Pretty Darn GOOD! I gave it 10/10 simple because it's one of the few movies I have seen in recent memory that does what I think a movie should do, it entertained me, it took me out of my reality for two hours and it made feel and think. Bravo La La Land!!!

I agree, at the most it's a 6 or 7. And that's being generous.

I gave it a 7/10 which for me means that it was enjoyable and I didn't get bored but I also wouldn't particularly want to watch it again. 8.4 does seem very high when you consider some of the films rated lower include Lawrence of Arabia, Full Metal Jacket and Scarface.

reply

It is still much better than many top movies on imdb

reply

I agree with that, it's a mystery to me how some films have made it to the top 250!
