Can they not just date after?

This is so frustrating. I don’t understand the ‘get engaged or break up” deal. Do they just use not wanting to get engaged as an excuse to dump someone? It seems so forced (even by Bach standards).

Trolls Need Not Apply

I don't understand that either.

I don't think it is exactly like that. I believe they are not required to get engaged. It's good tv if you will. If I recall 1 or 2 couples did not get engaged last season, but they didn't break up at that time. None of them worked out in the long run, but they didn't get engaged.

They want DRAMA.

I can't remember who it was ... maybe Michelle Money and the lughead body builder? There were at least one or two couples who did not feel like they were ready for engagement but they admitted that to each other and decided to make an effort at dating once the show wrapped.

Call me crazy, but Ashley was actually making a lot of sense when she was talking to Wells about the situation. She said that the upcoming fantasy suite date did not have to be so serious, it would just give them more time together and they would figure it out from there. If you got to that stage and didn't feel ready for a huge commitment, that is totally rational... especially when Wells was so late to the game. Chris Harrison can ham it up as much as he wants & try to scare them into a break up or engagement, but in reality, there is no reason for any of those couples to call it quits just because they don't want to propose yet.

I think they can stay together, but usually one in the couple starts to feel like the relationship won't work outside Paradise.

I mean for example, Tenley really led Joshua on last year and made him feel like she liked him. Then at the end, she gave him a bunch of lame, lazy excuses that were they were too different and lived different lives.

reply

No they can't. It's the rules. It's married or break up. Lol. How stupid..

reply

They also force impregnation. That's why there's a fantasy suite. To in this show you're forced to get married/engaged plus they make you get pregnant. No BC, they force creampies

It's ridiculous, but it is what it is. The irony is that by encouraging this absurd 'get engaged or break up' mentality after 18 days (and even then only if you were on the show at the start) that they decrease the chance of 'normal' people who might actually have a shot at a long term relationship coming on the show.

I agree!!!

18 days (max), lol. It's utterly stupid.
