The movie was a pretty good stand-alone and origin story. Why so much hate? It's light-years ahead of any of the Disney Trilogy movies. Emilia Clarke is hot and sexy. The characters all had good chemistry together. This isn't as good as Rogue One, but I would watch it again.

shareFrom what my brother told me, the Han Solo books were very entertaining, and even told why he works so well with Wookies. Apparently, Han was an orphan and was taken in by a female Wookie, so that's how he learned Shriwook well enough to understand it (though he can't speak it), and that was what led him to eventually striking up such a good friendship with Chewbacca. He taught Chewie Basic, so that his friend could understand it enough, though he can't speak Basic either. That's one reason why you can see them speaking to each other in the 2 languages, but they understand each other.
(Basic is the "Star Wars" version of English, and is a major Trade Language used around the galaxy, so that's why so many humanoids speak it).
So you like Clarke I guess this is why you like the entire film?
It's a point why people didn't like it since it was basically "Qi'Ra the film with Han Solo kind of in it."
It sucked.
