Walked out of this movie during the Kessel Run (second viewing)

Seeing this movie once was bad enough, it was so dull and boring, but I had free time and there was nothing else on, so I thought I'd give Soylo another try, but MAN, I was bored stupid even more than before! It doesn't say much about a movie if it's meant to engage you, especially if you're a sci-fi action fan, but its probably because I don't like Pretty Boy playing Solo, don't care at all for the endless romance scenes between him and his teenage crush, and just can't take Woody Harrelson seriously. Only Chewie looks, acts and sounds right, but it's like he's surrounded by people none of us know, and Pretty Boy looks nothing like a younger Harrison Ford. NOTHING. The only character I halfway liked was that alien multi-armed pilot, but he died.

I think the problem with the movie is that it's a prequel, and we know Han and Chewie and Lando all live to feature in the OT, so there's no danger. Not only that, but it's a HEIST movie, and to be frank, I hate heist movies. I've grown to despise Baby Driver for the same reason, among others.

And lastly, I can see why the boycott happened, and I wish I knew nothing about the movie, I would've preferred to have my own imaginative thoughts about Han Solo came about as a smuggler. I really don't want to see the imagination of several Someone Elses immortalised in film portrayed as fact, I think none of us did. I really hate Hollywood most times these days.

Hope you see it a third time. Looking forward to another dull and boring troll review!

reply

OK, what do you love so much about this movie?

reply

I like the bit were Chewbacca eats the Interweb Troll.

reply

How many parsecs had elapsed before you decided to leave?

reply

Sounds more made up than the time you told that story about you lost your virginity to a girl a Canada.

reply

Why would you defend this boring Solo crap? Rogue One was more engaging to me!

reply

Of course R1 was more engaging. I put it up there with the OT. But, that doesn’t make Solo bad. It was decent for me. I’m still not sure how people foindnit boring though. It has issues, but boring isn’t one of them.

reply

Where did I defend the movie? Just pointing out your made up story to troll the board.

reply

I'm not trolling, that's how I felt. Perhaps I'm not interested in seeing Han Solo's early days, I preferred him in the OT when he went from selfish smuggler to resistance fighter.

reply

You are trolling, you didn’t go and see a movie you hated again. This is a made up post just so you can moan and draw people in so you can attack them for having a different opinion. It’s patheitc, but it’s what Star Wars fans have shown themselves to be.

The hilarious assertion that there was nothing else to see, but a movie you’ve already blasted as being terrible. Sure, whatever you say, mr troll.

He gave all the motivation you needed to believe him: (i) Sci Fi & Star Wars fan (ii) wanted to give franchise film a second chance (iii) nothing else to do. It's what they typically do.

More focus on reading comprehension and less on straw-man butthurt, please.

reply

Bullshit, and that’s not how strawmaning works FYI.

On the face of this singular post you might have a point, but take a look at the post history. It’s not just “it wasn’t my cup of tea”, it’s hate. You don’t go see a movie you hate again. No ones that bored they’d watch a movie they hate again when there’s tons of other shit to see at the cinema, Netflix, Amazon, Apple, etc etc etc etc. It’s a bullshit wum post like pretty much everything else posted on any Star Wars board on this site.

Perhaps you're not aware how often I go to the cinema, in the UK, with an "unlimited" card and all. At least twice a week, for the last several years. There's only so many movies that come out, and I've seen some of them at least twice.

Infinity War, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Deadpool 2 I've seen twice, and I saw some stinkers like Book Club because the trailer looked interesting. I found Hereditary very unnerving and didn't want to see that again, but I think I will now. There's been literally no new movies released this week that my cinema will play. I must've seen everything going.

I go to the cinema to get out of the house, which is good for me, but I don't want to spend hours looking around at the shops. Plus, I love the taste of cinema popcorn, which is another draw for me. I will watch anything on a big screen if I can taste that salty goodness!

reply

Blah blah blah, you’re a wum. Don’t know why you’re bothering to deny it. You hate Disney Star Wars, no need for the bullshit. Just state your opinion and move on.

reply

Yes, I do, except Rogue One. What's wrong with that? It's rehashist or experimental or unwanted crap made by feminists and diversity obsessives. I'd rather stick with the old stuff. At least Lucasfilm was in the right hands with George. I wouldn't be surprised if you despise the Prequels as well (yawn, tell me something new).

reply

At no point have taken an issue with your opinion. Don’t know why you keep bringing it up like I did.

reply

This movie sucks so bad it singlehandedly put an end to Star Wars anthology films, lol Disney sucks

reply

They weren't cancelled, they were put on hold.

They were trying to put them out too quickly, anyway.

reply

Yeah I have a feeling we’ve seen our last anthology film.
