My god, I just absolutely cannot stand the daughter. Talk about victimised entitlement from a sheltered childhood. Of all the circumstances or home lives a person can be born into and raised up in, hers is adamantly considered to be on the ideal side.
She comes from an overloving and interested family. With an overattentive and doting mother and a supportive easygoing father.

Also found the prom date kiss to be somewhat forced and in reality, not entirely necessary. She only asked the guy out to save him from moments of social shame, to which he only accepted for the exact reason. He had no prior interest in her. Didn't even know her name. He was into a different chick.
Plus they literally had only met when the prom date invitation was extended. So the prom itself would've been their second time to hang out. Literally strangers.
So some forced hollywood teenaged romance truly wasn't needed. I don't think it even meshed well or was an overall welcome addition to the movies plot.
She was not that bad, she coped a better attitude towards the end of the movie. She was willing to stay near Chicago to attend NW, to make her parents happy.
