I was excited to watch this because I heard it was better than The Force Awakens. I was very disappointed to say the least. It was so boring and I had no idea what was going on, nor did I care. Felicity did a fine job, but Darth Vader's character didn't seem as menacing as it should be and the CGI for Peter Cushing and Leia was cringeworthy. They really need to stop with all these prequels and sequels.

"Apology accepted" didn't strike me as corny at all, because he actually killed the guy. The Rogue One scene just felt like goofy fan service and a poor parody of the original.

"Apology accepted" is a dark line. It was the only way for Needa to make up for his failure.
"Choke on your aspirations" is almost literally a pun.
I don't have a problem with the "choke" line, but it's nowhere near as subtle and intimidating as the first line.
The only thing that stood out for me about Vader's meeting with Krennic was hearing how much JEJ's voice had aged. I'm not going to knock the film for it because there's little they can do about it, but it was noticeable, at least to me.

Jeez i really liked TFA...i guess im in the minority here but everyone i saw it with really liked it...
All the planet-jumping in the first 30 mins or so was a bit criticised but it all came together later on.
And of course they won't stop! It's a massive cash cow for the studios and SW fans are eager for more and more.
I would go that far, it seems the anthology series is done after solo underperformed

I feel the same. It was passable, first half wasnt really that good, characters were dull, uneeded scenes like the lie detector alien and Riz Ahmed being disorientated for a couple of minutes, that whole thing was totally pointless. And pointless characters like saw gerrera and his crew.
You could have deleted Saw from the movie to concentrate on the other characters and it would have been better for it.
It picked up in the second half and I enjoyed it a lot more. They did a good job with the space battle, but thats not down to the director, the CGI scenes were probably being made or storyboarded before the movie even started by a totally different team.
And you could tell there were reshoots, things moved around, the flow of the film seemed off.
I bet that whole Krenik vs Tarkin thing was part of the reshoots. I liked the Tarkin storyline but it did take up some of the time that was probably set on other things. The Vader scenes were changed to accommodate that story line and Krenik was made to look like a sniveling fool in the reshoots.
Every time i see a 'robot' that has to extend & retract a radio antennae to send or receive messages, or a 'rocket ship' that does near light speed maneuvers in planetary gravity defying all laws of physics, instantly propels me into the bored zone. Being that this is 2018 we could use a little real imagination not what paralells Disney's first forray into adult Sci Fi which was with the flop 'ROCKET MAN' decades ago!
* But one guesses there's just so many Mickey Mouse & Star Wars knick knacks to be sold to emerging third world countries who's people don't mind these sci fi anachronisms, that are starting to be more advanced than Disney's original home, USA. Humanoid robots, they did those in the 1940s didn't they?
Other than the 30 second scene of Vader kicking ass this whole movie was a waste of time.
