At one point, they decide to go into the house to get their "freak" on. Gerald is holding Jessie's hand as they walk back into the house. She looks back at the door and makes a mental note that it's open. Why the hell would you not close it when you know what you're about to do. That made no sense.
I know it had to be open for the dog to enter the story, but surely there could've been another way to write it in.
I agreed. It was a really short sequence but honestly seemed pushed and unnatural. It gives us the hint that something wrong is about to happen and part of the problem will come from the outside, but sincerely, who the fuck would just leave the door open even if they no that there is no one miles around. I too found it very weird and think there was another way to write it in (an open window would have been a better alternative).
