do the writers do it advance the story line....or .for shock ?
Or in the most recent case the actor wants to leave?

Garret was leaving the show he discussed how he wanted to be killed off. He is in a lot of upcoming movies. Too bad, i liked his character. I did not see Ginny being shot by June, so far both episodes have been great but with Dakota and that Nick killing witch Charlie, they should both be beheaded.

It really bothered me that his character died. I keep thinking we got him in seasons 4 to 6, so we had some good scenes and time with him. But I felt like I needed more. This show reflects real life in that way, we always want more time...
