As I pointed out in another thread, there are clues that Madison had a dark past. Perhaps it was just an abusive home and a childhood spent running with gang members or other criminal types. She may have had a boyfriend very much like Troy at some point. It's clear she knows the type, and how to establish a rapport (to the extent you can do that with a psychopath). We know he has mommy issues. Madison seems to be deliberately tapping into them.
