I've been following Dev's career since "Slumdog Millionaire." Never actually knew that he was from the UK until this year when I saw him on one of the late night programs. He was also pretty good in "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" (and its sequel) too. Have always like Dame Judi Dench (a.k.a. "M") from the Bond films as well.
As for Pinto, I never honestly knew what happened to her after "Slumdog..", but do very much appreciate the updates on her career as well.
I wish them both continued success. They were a definite match made in heaven in "Slumdog.." Even though they're no longer a couple, I would still love to see both of them do another movie together.
If that's true about the scene where he meets his birth mother being the first scene that was shot, that's pretty crazy. They nailed it, but it seems like they would save that for later in the filming, after everyone has had time to settle into their characters.
I think that if I was an actor, it would be very difficult to do an emotional scene like that early in production. But then again, I guess that's what makes great actors great.
Well I think it's Dev Patel's best role since Slumdog Millionaire. He nailed the Aussie accent and gave a beautiful performance. I hope he gets more interesting roles offered to him now.
