Really hated the skull monsters
They looked more like a science experiment than ancient creatures.

The skull creatures were presented to be creatures living underneath, in what we must assume is void of light, vegetation and is possibly damp and clammy... so they would have to differ from the other "jungle" evolved creatures that we saw. So I liked they were different and seemed un-Earthly, as basically they are. That being said, I was not amazed either. I am just saying I dig they went down that design idea somehow.
The other creatures were quite amazing, I think.
