Grown adults can most certainly filter themselves just as well as they can choose to express it. For me, personally, I don't like censorship of any form. This is what IMDB had imposed and seeing it removed over here was a welcome change. Hence, my test post (so to speak). Pardon my language, if it has offended you.

I just saw Kong with my grandson. I thought it was pretty good. I told the grand how different this one is from the 1933 version, and the ones that came after were just all remakes. This story is something new.
Me too! I think moviechat.org is catching on and lots of IMDB message board folks will find it.
What I noticed myself is that now I tend to check first IMDB for some general info on the movie and than in another tab check the message board here on moviechat.org
on topic: havent seen kong Skull Island yet but I hope it is fasted paced than the Peter Jackson vehicle.
Also from imdb, would be great if we could get a rating here as well. Maybe for the future. But I really liked the film :D Thought John Goodman and Samuel were great!! Everybody else was meh 😕 But they did Kong absolutely magnificent, great work on that :D
shareDitto. Also from IMDB. Nowadays, I only go there to get some info like cast, perhaps run time, and see if there's anything in the movie's FAQ section. Otherwise, I really miss the forums :(
Unfortunately, I heard they will NOT be bringing back the forums. There was too much hate, vitriol, profanity, etc., as well as off topic-ness and derailment that they just didn't want to deal with it anymore, so they shut it down (for good). Plus, IMDB may have gotten popular enough to get bought out by some other entity, but all of that negativity on the message boards may be bad for that deal, so nuking it was the way to go.
It's nice to curse again, and sometimes I feel it's called for. However, I do get where LaurieGonzalez's coming from. If things get too awful here, history may repeat itself.

shareI'm from IMDB and I love moviechat.org! It's the closest to imdb boards, the style and everything. After watching a movie I go to imdb to vote and then straight here for comments to read. IMDB made the biggest mistake by not caring about its users, just caring about profits. I really hope their profits go down as people ran to other movie websites.
