I like Charlize, but Christ, I found her acting in this movie atrocious. Almost to the point that it ruining the whole movie to me.
I was really surprised by this. It was even more obvious as the other actors here did a pretty solid job...
What do you think? Wasn’t she way off her usual self?
I think she was there as window dressing, she looks pretty good at 43. I've seen her act much, much better than this. I agree that the other actors were much better. I was actually surprised at David Oyelowo, I thought he was great. Joel Edgerton was also good as a superficial corporate exec. And don't forget Sharlto Copley as Mitch, I remember him from District 9 and Open Grave. I loved that guy in this movie. I may need to watch this movie again, not sure I picked up everything.

shareShe is a Oscar winner and a great actress... in drama, and I'd say action as well. But I agree, her comic/comedy acting needs work, I think she is making an effort to improve. Also Edgerton was decent, but not good enough to carry her.
I wonder if she was any better by the time she did Longshot.
I think she's good in this, and very funny. It must appeal to my sense of humor, because I saw this in the theater and laughed through the whole thing, but I don't think many others did. Watched it again today, and I still find it (and her) very funny.
