...the twist coming?
I knew before watching that there was a huge twist at the end so I pretty much had it figured out by the time he visits the Jurgen Prochnow character.
However, if I hadn't known to expect one, I think I would have been completely caught off guard.
Almost. I was thinking the big reveal would be that Zev was a kapo, a Jewish prisoner who worked for the Nazis a la George Soros. Zev would pull the gun on Kurlander, Kurlander would say something like 'how dare you, you hypocrite! You condemn me, while you did the same as us'? Then maybe flashback to a young Zev in the camps, looting the dead, and/or even killing some other Jews himself. Then the memory & guilt would wash over him, he'd whack Kurlander and himself. Maybe my version would be more logical or likely, but the movie's twist was more shocking & entertaining.
I saw it coming a mile off. The memory gimmick, mixed with "they hid by pretending to be survivors" massively gave away that he would be searching for himself. Its exactly the same as the gimmick of Sixth Sense mixed with "I see dead people... They dont always realise they're dead".
