Typical liberal fiction

Over zealous rightwing bigots threatening Donavan because he defended a communist spy.

reply

Heck, even today Obama is called a communist by righ wing nuts.

reply

Inspired by true events. You think overzealous rightwing bigots were happy about him defending a commie spy? Why did so many other lawyers turn down the gig then?

reply

The OP has a point, but it's hyperbole. Spielberg made comparisons of 1950's right wing ideology to today's conservative movement in a thinly disguised manner, but it is not all fiction. Movement to deny free speech, trial and immigration rights of Muslims today does have some valid comparisons to what happened with Communists in America during the Cold War 1950's. Spielberg delivers a message consistent with mainstream liberal Hollywood democrats. He is among the most influential of all Obama and Hillary supporters. Still, his film makes some valid comparisons, however "hidden" the agenda.

Life is a state of mind.

Why does any movie with even a modicum of political content bring out the hysterical "oh those liberals!" whack-jobs. Don't they ever get tired of pissing and moaning and whining and complaining. And for a movie whose political themes were historical and, frankly, kind of bland? REALLY!?

You hate-radio, far-right zealots have been yelling 'wolf' so long it's just flat out boring now.
