People claiming this movie is US propaganda didn't pay any attention

Germans and Russians want to be portrayed as saints. They did much damage to the world. Is hard for them to accept that. And to be fair, they did awful things in the past, but americans are doingawful things in the present.

It's just a movie...a good movie. Why can't anything be just a good movie?

Spielberg had similar problems when he made Munich. But, interestingly, the opinion was much more divided, with some people screaming 'anti-Israel', and almost as many people screaming equally as loudly 'too pro-Israel'.

I didn't see Bridge of Spies as being particularly pro-American.

I'm not from the USA, for the record.

What people want is more of the kind of anti-American boilerplate that Hollywood produces by the bushel. They are not supposed to go off message!

As someone not-American, what I can say is that every damn movie I see coming out of Hollywood is clearly ANTI-American propaganda. And still all we see everywhere is "hey, more PRO-American propaganda"! Go figure out! :P

This movie shows the USA asking its own pilots to commit suicide if shot down, a CIA operative completely ignoring the predicament of an innocent college student caught in a political storm, the US public and Court system ignoring the nation's own principles of due process and "innocent until proven guilty", people literally shooting bullets into the home of a man that is just trying to do his job because they are so hysterical over communism, the public school system sowing sensationalist fear into the minds of children, etc, etc.
