make A Librarians for adults

im tired of everything being so teen oriented..another words...dumbed down.A little bit of authenticity would be nice instead of 19 year old superheroes. When will someone make a Librarian-like tv series for adults thats smart and grown up?

On the other hand do we really want a show that veers into pornographic violence? I prefer lighter fare.

slhma :)

Not a series, but have you seen the "National Treasure" films?

I am experiencing this series as being for adults but I can see your POV, too. For me, the campy, silly, even "hammy" performances are delightful. :)

There's an innocence to these characters and a role-model level of teamwork and caring. They are courageous and creative and committed. I'm right there with them. LOL Pure escapism. Relief, from adult and grown-up life.

This series also does appeal to a broad range of ages and that means grandparents of teens can watch this together, and laugh out loud together, and not once have some tv-show inspired, awkward conversation on a topic which you may wish to discuss at a different time or place. I can't say that about too many shows. Once Upon a Time comes to mind. :)

I came to this board specifically to ask if other adults were also loving this series. I wondered if I was too old to be the target audience for this and if the fact it's one of my top 2 favorite series meant I might be a bit slow. LOL So, I do get what you are saying.

I love this just as it is - no changes, please. I belly-laugh at their antics. As another poster suggests, for older folk, this style of humor is familiar. It was more common way back when.

Still, it would be fun to have both - this, and what you prefer. :) It's entertainment - there's room for more.

The CORRECT phrase is "... in other words ..."

So much for you wanting "smart" programming, right?

Is this show actually very good? I watch a lot of shows similar to this (Leverage, Grimm, Charmed, The Magicians, Incorporated, ect) Should I start watching? From the clips and trailers I have seen it seems kind of Silly and cheesy, and juvenile (the pilot)

How many of the "Libarian Movies" do I need to watch? I have one of them on my DVR.

This show is campy with acerbic dialogue, and it is completely self aware. The Magicians and Incorporated are nothing like this whatsoever. If you're looking for melodrama and cliche genre tropes, then this show is not for you.

It is fun to watch and the actors are actually pretty decent. The show doesn't take itself too seriously. My only problem with it is that all three seasons so far basically follow the same plot (big bad guy appears, the Librarians go up against him, a few random episodes are added and the bad guy is shown gathering forces, big time finale and the almost unbeatable big bad guy is beaten by some clever actions from the Librarians).

You don't have to watch any of the Librarian movies, I think I remember watching the first one over ten years ago and have not watched it since. I couldn't actually tell you what it was about.
