make A Librarians for adults

im tired of everything being so teen oriented..another words...dumbed down.A little bit of authenticity would be nice instead of 19 year old superheroes. When will someone make a Librarian-like tv series for adults thats smart and grown up?

Have you even seen the show?

IMO, this show isn't teen oriented. None of the heroes are teens, or even very close to being teens. Yes, its campy, but that doesn't mean its for kids. I find this show enjoyable because as an adult, several decades into adulthood I might add, I see it as a parody of the matinee action heroes.

Exactly. They aren't superheroes really. They use their brains and happen to have access to magical items. But their power is the brain.

And that's why I didn't refer to them as such. As I said, they are more like parodies of the matinee type hero like Indiana Jones; part brain and part brawn.

I was referencing the first post who said superheroes.

I see the OP's point and I see everyone else's point as well.

It IS very campy, and I can appreciate camp, but this one does have a tendency to take it a little more low-brow than necessary. Take Eureka as an example. Also very campy and silly, but it did it in a slightly smarter way. Same with the super silly warehouse 13. The Librarians doesn't feel like it's aiming for the same audience, and of course doesn't have to, but there are those of us out there who wished it was.

Movies are IQ tests; the IMDB boards are how people broadcast their score.

That's what I thought too. I've only seen episode 3. Might try to watch another episode. Want to see if there's any sense to the science on this show.

You see the destruction that she-beast laid? I'm being risk-averse, considering.

Waitaminutehere... this show is not for adults!?!?

I'm on my 2nd watching of the series and I'm just now finding out that I'm too old to enjoy it!?!? The horror! What am I going to do now?

ok less campy then.More serious. More thrill more intelligence less Disney .I guess Im wanting a Tomb Raider series then (when Tomb raider was about brilliant puzzles not stupid like the new games)

reply

There's too many serious shows in this genre. Campy is what it was born from. It is intelligent and fun. It doesn't take itself seriously, which is one of its biggest plusses. It mocks all the serious shows.

You want show for adults and give Tomb Raider as an example. Tomb Raider was just big boobs, when it was a game and it was just Angelina Jolie and big boobs when it was a movie (and a sequel of something). I think pornhub or redtube are more of your liking. There was also Relic Hunter if you're looking a bit more clothes and less acting.

Relic Hunter was MORE clothes?

reply

Haven't seen it, but I think they mean more than tomb raider. But I haven't seen that either.

It did include more clothes than your average redtube video ... or atleast that's what I've heard ...

Try "THE LOST ROOM", http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0830361/. It is a miniseries based somewhat around objects that have 'special powers' that can alter events. Ut is pretty much a grown up point of view.
