Anybody else who can't stand Lorna Bow?

Don't really have a solid reason to, but I just find her to be annoying AF.. sounds like a pointless rant, but whatever

I can understand what people are saying but I have started liking Lorna. She has some gravel to her, some guts. She's a hard nut to crack and she doesn't bully either. Can't be easy being an actress in that period esp if you're trying to maintain some personal standards. She doesn't understand what the hell Delaney is about...who does...but she might be up to more than we think. This is SUCH a great show!!!!

She is doing her part very well. I love seeing her. Of course we are suppose to dislike her. It is part of the fun.

reply

I have to say, i like her very much, she is an intelligent woman and he's deffo interested in her, he just doesn't know it yet

Unfortunately every bloody show and movie these days is feminist and must have a strong female who bosses the main male character around while being a total bitch.

reply

At first I was suspicious of her given how she arrived as Horace's widow and surprised everyone including James who up until then looked as if he was in control of things. She was an unexpected spanner thrown in the works. However now I like her gumption and her strength and there seems to be far more sparks flying between these two characters than there is between James and Zilpha.

Stand up now and face the sun...

She gave the entitled degenerate noble the comeuppance he deserved, I like her.

That's one aspect of the show that's accurate. At the time The House of Hanover was in disarray. George III was old and insane and the Prince Regent, the future George IV, was a greasy scumbucket. Mark Gatniss is spot on playing him - along with the acne and fat suit.

He plays Sherlock Holmes older brother Mycroft in Sherlock.

I'm absolutely certain that she was hired by someone..she always looks frightened when there's no one watching and she's covering it with her creepy smile.

I loved Lorna Bow’s first scene, she was calming herself down, before meeting the very scary James Delaney. She had to act the most unafraid and sure of herself, if she wanted to re-negotiate a fortune with an insane, dangerous, cannibal. The fact that she was fearful but was doing it anyway, showed me that she was brave and a worthy adversary to James.

Couldn't agree with you more. She's absolutely hilarious and intriguing at the same time. Hoping there's more to her than she's letting on. I'm completely enamoured by her.

reply

Totally in agreement. She throws the whole rhythm of the show off with her 21st century mannerisms & intonations. Very shallow limited actress. No sex appeal or any other character feature at all.

reply

She plays a believable part that makes this show really compelling for me...

...And that goes for pretty much everyone else too.
