Mel should be in the next Mad Max

If MIller decides to make another one. Hardy could still play Max, but i think it would be cool for Mel to play a role of an old bearded buff loner. His character could be called.... the Hermit. He can be a legend people talk about but are not sure if he realy exists or not. He could represent what Max could become later in his life, kinda like what the Skull Knight is to Gutts in Berserk. It would not be the first time for Miller to have an actor reappear as a different character in this franchise.

Mel had his chance at Fury Road and he blew it to make his crazy torture-porn Jesus movie instead. He started Fury Road and then walked out on it after a week or two of shooting to make that silly religious drama. Made him a lot of money so I guess it worked out for him in the end, but he screwed over George Miller pretty well and delayed Fury Road by several years because of the false start.

So, no, I don't think he should be allowed anywhere near the Mad Max franchise anymore. He blew his chance at that, and may have cheated us out of more Mad Max films by wasting a few years of George Miller's life.

That said, Blood Father's still a good movie. I don't like Mel at all as a person, but he did great in this role.

Mel shown in this that he easily could have carried on being Max, what a wasted opportunity...

There was no reason Mel couldn't have been in the reboot or whatever that abomination was meant to be. Between makeup and CGI they could have foregone that wasted contract with Hardy a.k.a. "Mute Mel" and maybe with Mel's involvement, actually made a worthwhile film - not some Hollyweird 'strong women' sattire.

The Mad Max reboot was the precursor to the Ghostbusters reboot - nothing but a spiteful and vindictive film made to piss off men.

So IF they make another one, which after the appalling results of the last one, I'd ask kindly that Mel not stain his legacy by being any where near it.
