Why are the children so young?
Shouldn't the kids be in their 40s or so if the parents are 70s?

shareWell Grace is 70 and Sol is 72... and the two couples were married for 40 years so children in their mid to late 30's would make sense. For a long time I was like those kids are too long but I think it is because we think of Jane Fonda as closer to 80 then 70.
shareI have to agree with you. My parents are in their 70s and I'm 52 and my siblings are 50 and 49 respectively.
shareMy parents are 75 and 76 and I just turned 37; the thought never occurred to me!
I carry your heart with me, I carry it in my heart.
Yes. This is not real life, however, and they cast people who would be good in the parts and attractive to viewers.
shareIt's not a crazy, unrealistic age. It is a touch too young, though, I agree.
looking Venice Beach, feeling Dagenham
My dad is 70, and I just turned 30. My brother is 34. It's not uncommon for people of that generation to have established themselves before having children.
shareYes, that's what I thought. Robert and Grace were the types to be well-established financially before starting a family, so they would have started their family in their 30s. And Sol and Frankie probably tried to have kids before realizing they would have to adopt.
shareI am 70, and I have a 25-year old granddaughter. (My own mother was 20 when I was born, and I was 20 when my first child arrived.) In my experience, women my age married and had babies young.
